TermoElectrica is Chisinau's thermal electric power company, responsible for the city's district heating and electricity generation. Its facilities bear some of the most striking Soviet industrial mosaics in Moldova — large-format works executed in smalt and ceramic tile that cover substantial sections of the facility's exterior walls with imagery drawn from the iconography of energy, industry, and socialist labour.

The scale and ambition of the TermoElectrica mosaics is characteristic of the Soviet approach to industrial aesthetics: the idea that factories and utilities were not merely functional infrastructure but sites of cultural significance, deserving of the same attention to public art as squares, train stations, and civic buildings. The workers depicted in these mosaics are heroic in posture, collective in orientation, and entirely confident in their task — which was to transform raw energy into the warmth and light that a socialist city required. In a country that has struggled with energy security since independence, the images have acquired an additional layer of historical irony.
